Library Services & Policies

This guide reviews the circulation policies at Lincoln Land Community College Library.

Computer Use in The Learning Center

TLC offers patrons access to computers for research, homework and printing.  We have 15 desktop computers for patrons to use, and each computer has software such as Microsoft Office, OpenOffice, and Google Earth.  We also have study tables and seating areas outfitted with power stations to use with your own devices.

The Learning Center also offers semester long laptop and hotspot loans to registered students.  To request a laptop or hotspot, students must first contact their Student Success Advisor for approval.  Once approved, TLC will notify students when their device is ready to pick up.  Laptops are due back by the last day of each semester with no renewals.

Checking Out Laptops

TLC Loanable Technology policies are outlined below.

  • Students may be held responsible for any damages that may occur to the laptop while it is in their possession.
  • Students will be held financially responsible for the replacement cost of the laptop computer should the computer not be returned to the Learning Center.
  • Such overdue fines, damage costs, and/or replacement costs may be billed to the student's LLCC Student Account, and a hold may be placed on their records until these charges are paid.
  • Should the laptop not be returned, students may be prosecuted for the theft of this laptop computer as it is the property of Lincoln Land Community College.

Computer Use for Community Patrons

All TLC library resources and services are available to the public at large, and individuals who are neither students nor staff at LLCC also have access to our PCs.  Community members must obtain a Guest Username and Password from the Front Desk, and these accounts are valid until midnight on the day of issue.
