September 11, 2001: The Day That The World Changed, is a walk-through poster exhibition viewable beginning Thursday, September 9 through Thursday, September 30, 2021 within LLCC Library on the square pillars on the first floor, northwest side.
20 years have passed since the terrorist attacks on American soil. This educational exhibition recounts the events of September 11, 2001, through the personal stories of those who witnessed and survived the attacks. It explores the consequences of terrorism on individual lives and communities at the local, national and international levels, and encourages critical thinking about the legacies of 9/11. The exhibition was developed by the 9/11 Memorial and Museum and made possible in part by the National Endowment of the Humanities.
Told across 14 posters, this exhibition includes archival photographs and images of artifacts from the 9/11 Memorial & Museum’s permanent collection. The poster exhibition is meant to be viewed chronologically. Posters are displayed on the square pillars within the library and numbered, 1-14, for ease of access.
This guide is meant to provide additional information and resources on the 9/11 terrorist attacks as we approach its twentieth anniversary.
